Cost of Buying Property in Spain

Generally speaking it is reasonable to allow about 10% extra
on top of the sale price of the property to cover IVA @7%
(Spanish VAT) and 3% to cover legal and other costs.
These estimates will of course vary slightly in each case

budget is for the initial transaction and of course the ongoing
costs associated with buying a property in Spain.
People with financial affairs in Spain will need a Foreigners
Indentification Number called Numero de Indentificacion de
Extranjero (NIE) which works both as an identification number
and social security number.
