La Zenia

The Beach at La Zenia really is this lovely! It’s so big that even on an August Bank Holiday it doesn’t seem busy. The blue flag beaches called Cala Del Bosque and Cala Cecrad are good places to hire jet-skis and pedalos. If you’re crazy enough you can take a ride on the banana boat. There are a couple of great beach bars here in summer time and if you climb the steps up to the restaurant you can sit outside overlooking this fabulous bay with its crystal clear waters.

The golf courses of Villamartin, Campoamor, and Las Ramblas are 10 minutes by car. Nearby you will find Orihuela Costa leisure complex including an Olympic sized swimming pool, tennis, squash, gym, bowling and restaurant.

San Javier Murcia airport is about 20 minutes drive South and Alicante about 45 minutes drive north.

La Zenia is a great base for reaching many places of interest in the area – its only 20 minutes drive to the lovely Mar Menor lagoon and if you drive 20 minutes North you’ll reach the protected Laguna de Torrevieja, Laguna de La Mata & Dunas de Guardama. Terra Mitica theme park is less than an hour away.

La Zenia has a good pharmacy, bank, a very well stocked supermarket called Consum and a good choice of bars and restaurants. There is a nice gift shop and homeware store, furniture shops, bedding and soft furnishing shop and much more in La Zenia town.

There are a number of new developments around La Zenia but the emphasis is definitely on individual, private villas on large plots often with their own swimming pool.
